Soloist - Jamie Davidson
Who are you ( name, age, where you come from):
Jamie Davidson, 34, Kirriemuir, Scotland.
What is your background?:
Played online video games exclusively, and arrived at cycling very well rested during my final year of University.
Why did you want to get involved in this challenge? :
I asked what I needed to do to acquire a pair of Doddie tartan tights and apparently the prerequisite was a self supported ride to Rome.
How long have you been cycling?
Approximately 12 years with any regularity.
What do you think will be the most challenging aspect of the trip?
Having completed self supported challenges in the past, I think sharing the adventure with other people will be the biggest challenge. Everyone will probably peak and trough at different times, and could make things quite interesting.
How important is it that we keep Doddie's memory alive?
Incredibly important.
How important is it that we continue to raise funds for MND Foundation?
Frankly, MND is Shiite. Anything we can do to make sure we limit or eradicate this condition and ensure nobody has to endure it again is no big ask.
What has been the most inspirational aspect of this challenge so far for you?
The community spirit with organisation and fundraising ideas.
What, ultimately, do you want to come out of this?
A cure for MND, and my bum not too sore.
