Why did you want to get involved in this challenge?
What better way to combine my passion for cycling, pushing my body to the limits of physical and mental endurance with the ability to raise crucial funds for the MND.
How long have you been cycling?
Feels like forever 😬😬
What do you think will be the most challenging aspect of the trip?
The sustained physical endurance required over the 3000 km journey, together with layoff time between relay legs, coupled with unpredictable weather and climbs…. I hate climbing!
How important is it that we keep Doddie's memory alive?
Keeping the great man’s memory alive is immensely important, not just for the rugby community but for everyone. It honours his legacy, raises awareness about MND and inspires ongoing support for research and initiatives so one day we find a cure.
How important is it that we continue to raise funds for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation?
It’s crucial to support research, awareness, and assistance for those affected by MND. Every contribution aids in advancing understanding and finding potential treatments, making a tangible impact on individuals and their families.
What has been the most inspirational aspect of this challenge so far for you?
Undoubtedly, witnessing the unwavering support from the cycling community to collectively contribute to the cause and overcome the physical and mental hurdles of the journey.
What, ultimately, do you want to come out of this?
To raise significant awareness and funds for MND research, leaving a lasting impact in Doddie's memory and contributing to the ongoing fight against this devastating illness - Wish me luck!
