Introducing Your Ford Centre - Sponsor

Now you have met all our team, it’s time to introduce our sponsors, starting with the brilliant team at Your Ford Centre, without whom we quite literally could not get to Rome! Ben Short and his team have provided us with 4 Ford Tourneo Vans, all decked out with our team logos, and adapted for this challenge to able to carry all our kit, bikes and the the riders who are on their off-bike stints. I imagine it’s where a fair bit of shut-eye will be grabbed in between bike legs! But more than that, their whole team have really got behind the spirit of the challenge and will be completing their own ‘Race to Rome’ on stationary bikes in their Kirkaldy showroom to raise money towards our target. They are truly an integral part of this great effort. Ben Short, Director of Your Ford Centre,  tells us why they wanted to get involved….

‘ When Ian Barr, co-captain for the Doddie’s Grand Slam Team, contacted myself to offer the opportunity to assist the team, I knew straight away that this was something we wanted to get involved with. It’s all in aid of an important cause to tackle Motor Neuron Disease. I have been truly mesmerised by the people involved in the Doddie’s Grand Slam team. Constructed of people from the four corners of the UK, all using their individual expertise, coming together to plan and execute a crazy challenge of cycling 3000km from Edinburgh to Rome. All the blood, sweat and tears (literally!) will be worth it when they cross that finish line in Rome. Your Ford Centre are proud to sponsor the Doddie’s Grand Slam team and I am sure I speak on behalf of all our staff and customers in wishing them all the best on their travels.’’
